The Neighborhood Atlas Area Deprivation Index And Recommendations For Area-Based Deprivation Measures. 2023 Author(s) Rehkopf, David H, and Phillips, Robert L Volume Health Affairs Source Health Affairs Edward Hannan and colleagues found that a lack of standardization of input variables to the Area Deprivation Index (ADI) available from the Neighborhood Atlas overweights the index for median home value and thus potentially further disadvantages already disadvantaged communities. We recommend that a revised ADI be created that addresses the error, and we offer five steps to avoid future errors in the creation of area deprivation measures.
