Home All News & Insights Pisacano Leadership Foundation Announces 2024 Scholars Phoenix Newsletter - November 2024 Pisacano Leadership Foundation Announces 2024 Scholars The Board of Directors of the Pisacano Leadership Foundation is pleased to announce its selections for the 2024 Pisacano Scholarship. The scholarship is awarded to U.S. medical students who demonstrate a strong commitment to the specialty of family medicine. November 7, 2024 The Board of Directors of the Pisacano Leadership Foundation (PLF) is pleased to announce its selections for the 2024 Pisacano Scholarship. The scholarship, valued at up to $28,000, is awarded to U.S. medical students who demonstrate a strong commitment to the specialty of family medicine. As health care has transformed over the last few years, and the need for family medicine leadership has increased, the American Board of Family Medicine (ABFM) funded a doubling of the number of Pisacano scholars. Each scholarship applicant is evaluated on their commitment to family medicine, leadership qualities, academic performance, including evidence of clinical excellence and application of knowledge to clinical care, communication skills, and service. The 2024 Pisacano Scholars highlighted below, and on the Foundation’s website, will be recognized during PLF’s annual symposium this fall: Samantha Busch – University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health Viviane Cahen – Oregon Health and Science University Breanna Chachere – University of Houston College of Medicine Neil Dixit – Medical College of Wisconsin Elizabeth Flores – UCLA David Geffen School of Medicine Stephen Freeman – Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine Caryssa Lim – Kaiser Permanente Bernard J.
